With the new year around the corner, now is the time to start preparing for the reopening of IRCC's, very popular, Parents and Grandparents sponsorship program (PGP).
On January 28th, 2019 at 12pm EST, the IRCC launched the PGP application system for 2019. In approximately 11 minutes, the IRCC announced that the application was closed after 27,0000 "interest to sponsor" forms were received.
Presently, Canada's PGP is a "first-in-first served" model. As opposed to 2018's lottery system selection process. The first step in the process is submitting an "interest to sponsor" form. The form typically takes 10 minutes to complete, if you have all the required information prepped and on-hand.
With the clock ticking and the program being re-launched in January 2020; it's in your best interest to start preparing for the PGP's reopening.
